
Rose Carrano has worked as a book publicist for over twenty years and has been in the book publishing industry for over thirty.
While working for various publishers in New York City, she held numerous positions including administrative (Macmillan, McGraw-Hill, Franklin Watts); editorial, sales, marketing (Franklin Watts); and, book publicity (Franklin Watts, HarperCollins).
At Franklin Watts Publishers she assisted the publisher in establishing a trade hardcover division. She went on to become their New England sales representative and in that capacity won numerous sales awards. She returned to New York to run their publicity department.
At HarperCollins Publishers, where she worked for twelve years, she worked her way up the ranks of publicity eventually becoming Director of Publicity in 1998. She personally handled many high profile campaigns and was responsible for overseeing the staff, budgets, and campaigns for the hardcover, trade paperback and reference imprints.
She has conducted book promotion and publicity campaigns for an eclectic list titles that span numerous genres including sports, self-help, memoir, history, business, parenting, cookbooks, military, current events, religion/spirituality, picture books, commercial, literary and YA fiction.
She started Rose Carrano Public Relations--a full service public relations and consulting firm serving the literary community--in June 2000.
